Latangula Teniecha Bell is the founder of the William Earl Cox Sr. Foundation. She is the daughter of the foundation’s namesake. She was led by God to establish the William Earl Cox Sr. “Music Matters” Scholarship to honor the legacy of her father.
Latangula attended Alabama State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Shortly after, she obtained a Master of Education degree from the University of South Alabama. As her passion for education grew, she decided to enroll at Walden University where she earned an Education Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership and Administration. She has been employed with the Mobile County Public School System where she has worked in the inner-city school setting for 19 years. She has been named “Teacher of the Year” three times since employed with the Mobile County Public School System. When available Latangula also works as a Notary Signing Agent.
Latangula attends Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Whistler, Alabama where she serves as a youth counselor and a member of the choir. She enjoys reading, online shopping, completing puzzles, and spending time with her family.
She is the mother of three beautiful daughters: Tyra, Tamia, and Taliyah.
Amberly "Bambie" Harris is a graduate of the University of South Alabama with a degree in Biomedical Sciences focused in Pre-Med. Although she loves the field of medicine, her passion is for the world of media and entertainment. She has been in the Media industry for over 19 years and has gained a vast knowledge of radio announcing, promotions, video editing, marketing, event planning, graphic design, engineering and event hosting. She is the Co-Owner and COO of Nspire U! Events, Entertainment and Marketing Firm. She also serves as Creative Director and Program Director of Nspire U On Air - The New Beat of the Bay Internet Radio Station which is the first African-American, female owned internet radio station on the Gulf Coast. She is a Youth Therapist with Compass II Life Mentoring Program and is on the Board of Directors for Dreamhunters Inc., on the Advisory Board for USA Health Systems All of Us Research Program and on the Advisory Board for The City of Mobile Events Department with the MoonPie Drop. Her ultimate goal is to continue to help others by keeping them "N-Formed”, "N-Tertained" and "N-spired" while helping people to understand if you could be anything in the World, being YOU is what is the best option.
Growing up, Earl Cox was like an an Uncle to Amberly. He and Mrs. Lois were always at she and her brothers events, cheering louder than everyone else. Truly a blessing to have had be a part of Amberly’s life, her being a part of this foundation is a footprint towards her gratefulness of him and his beautiful heart!
William Jr. is a native of Mobile, AL and currently resides in Snellville, GA. He has a Masters Degree in Project Management from DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management. Mr. Cox is currently employed with Gwinnett County Public School System where he is the Coordinator of Broadcast and AV Media for the districts' 140+ schools.
In this role, Mr. Cox has the privilege of working with the district's Curriculum and Instruction and IT departments providing and supporting a wide range of innovative technology resources that help support teaching and learning. He has been working in education for the past 17 years.
Mr. Cox is a husband to Demetria Cox and father to three young children, William III, Aaliyah, and Maliyah Cox.
Mr. Cox serves as the treasurer for the William Earl Cox Sr. Foundation.
Douglas July, Jr. is an alumnus of Mattie T. Blount High School and Alabama State University. He was a member of the marching band in high school as well as in college. In college, he began to sing and was a member of the university's choir and chamber singers. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha SINFONIA, a professional music music fraternity. He is currently employed as a teacher/coach with Mobile County Public Schools. He is a member of the Mt. Sinai (Whistler) Missionary Baptist Church, where he serves as a musician.
He is the husband of the former Kristi Vaughn and the dad of Vaughn Elise and Douglas (D3) III.
Alicia Mackie is a native and current resident of Mobile AL. She has a degree in Psychology from The University of Alabama. Ms. Mackie is currently employed with the University of South Alabama and owns & operates a virtual administrative service, ATMackie Consulting LLC.
Ms. Mackie has an extensive background in the nonprofit sector, having been named one of the "Women Who Shape the State" in 2015 by AL.com for the work she's done within the State's nonprofit community. She serves as the secretary for the William Earl Cox Sr. Foundation. She has a passion for giving back and is excited to be a part of such an amazing opportunity with this Foundation. She enjoys traveling, attending live concerts, shopping and Alabama Football.
